I'm starting to really have issues with "community leaders" and "experts" here on SP who respond compulsively to posts by Sparkers, without apparently reading the posts. It's almost like they have a file filled with"copy-paste" responses and eagerly slap them down whenever they think the copy-paste fits the bill.

It's not all of them. A couple of them seem to have the ability to read and respond in an honest and helpful way, but there are a handful that I keep running into who either are filling some sort of comment quota, or lack the desire to effectively communicate with Sparkers.

I find it very uninspiring.

    Funny...I have just been having a problem with this also. Extremely disheartening. I felt so down in the dumps yesterday over the whole thing. I was ready to terminate my spark account this morning.

    I am not too thrilled with the message boards either. I much prefer getting to know people through teams or blogs. I had noticed that the "copy-paste" trend you mention has increased in the recent months.

    Maybe you should start a thread and bring this to their attention? This way they will realize what is going on. That would be really frustrating when you are searching for an answer!

I haven't been on the message boards lately. Maybe I'll have to go check them out again. Hang in there!

It wasn't my post that got the copy-paste response. One of my favorite activities here on SP is to go to the community boards and talk to people about their troubles, offer suggestions, support, and such. Often I find myself talking to the original poster, and suddenly one of those copy-paste responses pop up. I feel like it totally undermines the actual conversation that was already taking place.

As I said in my blog, I know it's not ALL the leaders and experts. There are a couple that I really respect, because they seem to be actual experts, or are compassionate people...BUT there are a handful that as you said, are simply maintaining their status.

It seems to run counter to the whole idea of SP.

    Hi it sounds like you posted on the community message board. I am a part of the ones who post there and I know exactly what your talking about because I see the responses they post. It is frustrating when someone asks a question and the response they get is "welcome to spark" or a long list of what you should know. Some of the ones that post don't read they just post because in order to keep there status as a community team member we have to post so many a week. I can't do anything about them, I'm not even sure the ones who get the responses (like you) can, but as one of the community team members I post on the introduce yourself thread 3 times everyday. I always read the posts. To new people this is my post -

Hi and welcome. So glad you are here to make a change! Get familiar with everything and join some teams. Teams are good for motivation, support and accountability. Good luck on your journey! If you have any questions I am sure we can help you.

To people who ask specific questions or about special teams I answer there questions and/or try to find them teams that may help.

I am sorry with how you have been treated, please be assured we are not all like that and if you have questions send me a message if I cant help you I know who can.
