It's March already?!

Saturday, March 16, 2013

I can't believe it's already the middle of March. Time is sure is passing at lightning speed these days. Isn't that supposed to happen when you have little ones in the house? I always thought that once the kids are grown things slow down a bit and life is a little less hectic. Not!

A little update from the last time I was in here...
As far as my weight goes, I keep losing and regaining the same 10 lbs. Which is good I guess. At least I'm not gaining with no losses at all.

My mom had a stroke which is a good reason why I haven't been in to post. Thank God it wasn't worse. She has no paralysis at all. She does have some peripheral vision loss in her left eye and will have to learn to compensate for that. As of now she cannot drive and she really hates that. It's hard to lose your independence in the blink of an eye. But we are all very grateful for her stroke not being as bad as it could be. My brothers have been wonderful. At the moment my brother here has been switching weeks with me so my mom has someone with her at all times and my brother in California has offered to come back if needed to help out. She is such a good patient her doctor has given her the OK to travel to Aruba at the end of the month. Of course, she has to have someone with her. They said that her eyesight could resolve itself but of course we don't know. She does have an appointment in April so hopefully they can tell us more.

So, that's what I've been up to. And now to get back in the saddle again. It seems I'm always falling off and getting back on. I wish I could just stay on and keep riding.

I am so sorry that your mom had a stroke. Will you tell her that we at Spark are rooting for her? The brain is a wonderful thing, it compensates in the most astounding ways.
Don't worry to much about your weight, just do things that give you energy and keep you healthy.
All the best!
Maria

Good to see your post. So sorry about your mom, but I am glad she is doing better and can go to Aruba.
Don't worry about the up and down 10 lbs. I think you are doing well considering all the stresses. Once your mom is fully recovered, then focus on yourself. In the meantime, try to get your exercise in for stress reduction and eat as healthily as possible so you will have the extra energy you need now.
