Not Spring Yet!

Saturday, March 16, 2013

I have several kinds of seeds growing in the house so I can get a head start on my vegetable garden. This morning I see that the Walla Walla onions and tomatillos are starting to sprout as well as the Mortgage Lifter Tomatoes from seed I saved last fall. I need to get out to the garden shed today and get pots and light stands since I will need to transplant some of them in a week or so. I am still waiting for the peppers and I have a lot more to plant inside. We have had a lot of snow fall in the last two weeks and I am crossing my fingers that I can get to the space outdoors where I put up my little greenhouse each spring. We don't normally get quite this much snow even though it is welcome since last year was a dry summer.

It won't be long! I had a really good v.garden class yesterday. I'm preparing the yard, and can get peas in now; possibly some of the early greens. Have fun!

emoticon I'm too impatient to plant seeds - I get the Wal-Mart seelings & don't plant them until 2-weeks after the last frost - right now are mornings are still below 32.
