Today I was feeling sick and did not want to go to the gym but after talking to myself and my boyfriend I decided maybe going to the gym would make me feel a little better so I went to the gym with my niece.
I increased the incline as well as the speed and turned my music up. I wasn't running but I was walking pretty fast and enjoying the music. Before too long 20 minutes past and I was at 200 calories and 1 mile. Wow I reached a mile in less than 30 minutes!! That pushed me and after 45 minutes I completed 2 miles and burned 460 calories. Not to mention the last minute I decided to increase the speed to 4.5 I usually keep it between 2.0 and 3.0 but I said what the heck Bree go for it. I ran the last minute.
2 miles may not seem like a lot to some people but for me a person who barely can reach a mile that was a success! Running 1 full minute when I'm at a gym and people are constantly running was a small victory for me. I did it!!! I actually ran and use I was sweating and breathing heavy but isn't that what we should accomplish when doing a moderate workout? Well that's what the articles I've been reading have told me.
I am so proud of myself I ran a full minute the two miles is good as well but the running part is mind blowing to me. Next time I'll shoot for a minute and thirty seconds or at least another full minute.
