Well, my 12-year-old son Danny is still very sick, and he isn't getting better. I am stressed, exhausted, and worried, and he, poor kid, just lies around listlessly when he isn't throwing up or sleeping. He has always been such an active, lively child - it is heartbreaking to see him like this.
The pediatrician says that this is the type of illness where it is a process of elimination to find out the cause. Lab tests are scheduled for tomorrow and Monday. And, in the meantime, I am working on pushing fluids and trying to make sure he keeps enough down that he doesn't need an IV for dehydration.
When something like this happens, one realizes how unimportant so many things are, and what is really important. It's good to have the reminder to keep things in perspective.
