Ah, my spark friends, I've been lost in the world of Harry Potter. Healthy food and exercise has been sidelined by my nine year old's birthday sleepover. Oh, it's been a lot of fun and my beautiful bookish girl is having so much fun with her friends. But, after making 3 dozen cupcakes for school, chocolate wands, acid pops, pizza, and a giant chocolate chip birthday cookie cake, I'm looking forward to getting back to salads and walks. My poor dog is missing her daily walks too! But, it will all be over tomorrow morning and I will have a nine year old who had one of the best birthday parties ever. Now, if only I can survive the upcoming tween years.

Sounds like an unforgettable party! You must be EXHAUSTED, but I'm sure it was all worth it!

That sounds like an awesome party! Your daughter will have terrific memories of her special day. I hope everybody got at least some sleep and you get a chance to relax at some point this weekend.

It's almost warm enough AND dry enough that we can meet for a long walk. I was out for about an hour last night--texted a friend at the last minute and was so glad she could walk with me. It was great to be out of the house.

Oh hey, it feels so wrong to ask this on SP (Ha!) but how did the acid pops turn out? I'd love the recipe if you thought they were good. I think my teenagers would like those, too. :)

Thank you for the comments. Marlis, you are not the first to tell me this. I'm surprised as well. One of the girls coming to the sleep over is allergic to tree nuts. I've been triple checking all the labels on everything I buy! I certainly don't want to have to use the epi pen!

For what it's worth, I will add we did provide some fresh cut veggies with pizza and popcorn for the movie snack. I couldn't let it all be unhealthy!

Happy, belated Birthday to the birthday girl. Glad she had fun, and you had fun preparing for it.
I was surprised to read that you were able to bring cupcakes to school. Both of my daughter-in-laws love to bake, but are no longer allowed to bring home-made food to school. It has to be in an original package, directly from the store. They can't even bring fresh fruit, the day they have to bring snacks. A new law. They live at opposite coasts, so I know, it is not a local thing. The government is getting involved in too much, these days.
Now, back to eating healthy food, my friend. emoticon emoticon emoticon
