Well here we are in Alberta on March 15th and it is a beautiful day with bright white, fluffy snow falling from the skies.
This past Tuesday it was bright, sunny and the warmth of the sun felt amazing on my face. I could see the grass and we even had our first BBQ meal of 2013. It was starting to feel like spring. Other than the yard work that would need to be done (due to having 2 dogs, 2 children and a husband) I was feeling enthusiastic. I was even planning my flower garden in my head while my husband was dreaming of golf.
That night a sinister cloud cover rolled in and by morning everything was white and COLD. BRRR... It has not stopped snowing since. We have had over 35 cm already and it is still falling.
Strangely enough I am not miserable. For the first time in my adult memory I am actually laughing and noticing the beauty that freshly fallen snow has. I have shovelled a few times (no snow blower for us) but even that has not upset me -- I was happy to count it on my fitness tracker. LOL. It makes me oddly giddy to feel like I got away with something by counting shovelling as a workout and yet any of you who have ever really shovelled snow for half an hour knows it truly is a workout -- a shower worthy one at that.
Off I go now to enjoy a nice hot mug of decaffeinated Vanilla Nut Cream Tea with a dash of milk (the aroma is to die for and the flavor is pretty great too.) while I admire the falling snow from the comfort of my warm house and when that is done I will need to go use my snow plow (mini van)
to get to the grocery store. I guess I will not be using the BBQ today.
