Maybe not for all, though.

But I'm 78 and finally there is something that works for me. For those who have read my past blogs, know that I am - or supposed to be - on a restricted diet. (I am following it faithfully with two exceptions mentioned below)

I added Krill Oil to my diet and think this was the magic button for me. It is healing my system from overabuse - years of eating things like sugar, flour, wrong fats, etc. And yes, at times I was a health nut and even a vegetarian, but couldn't stay on anything healthy for long because of other health issues.

If I can go out for dinner and eat a couple of biscuits with ice cream for dessert plus some cheesecake with whipped cream another time (and throw the rest out), and not go on a binge for weeks, then you KNOW something has changed here with me!!!!

No, not all Omega-3 oils are the same! I can vouch for that. I tried the one my chiropractor swears by and sells nearly at cost because he believes in it. Didn't work - after I had downed a whole bottle of it. It didn't taste bad because they added something like lemon to it. Imported stuff from Sweden or Norway. He said he tried Krill Oil and it didn't work for him. Sooo. . .!

All I can say is listen to your own body. It will tell you what you need.

And if you can't stand the taste of these oils (like me) I buy the soft gels.

Don't believe there is nothing or no information out there to help you!

So, I hope something I've said has motivated you to take action.

Remember, whatever you do, to check with your doctor first before mixing meds.

Good luck!

What are your thoughts on Chia Seed as a source of Omega-3? I am have having a tablespoon of Chia and a tablespoon of flaxseed in a five ounce glass of applie cider each morning. Seems to work for me. I was taking 3 tablespoons of chia seed but then it became unavailable and now the price has doubled or more. I am also taking 4 prunes each day to help the digestive system.

I must stop saying to myself "Must get some of that Krill oil" and get out there and actually do it.
I am thrilled it's working so well for you. I have heard so many positive comments from others about this stuff too, but to hear it from someone I actually know sure makes it worth checking out.
Thank you so much for the info, Helen, and getting the word out there.

Good counsel! Not all suppliments are compatable with medications.
Bottom line - God made us each unique.

HI Helen !! SO GLAD this is working for you !! FINALLY something huh? WOOHOOOO !! a TRUE CELEBRATION IS NEEDED hon !!!!

ALSO THANKS For the WARNING For OTHERS to CHECK w/their Dr's FIRST !! It's AMAZING how many things DO NOT agree with other meds. I am on a med that almost NOTHING agrees with, but I know this ahead of time,,,,,so yes, I am EXTREMELY CAREFUL ahead of time. My Dr as it is, has taken tests to see if my levels are where they "ought to be" from a Dr in ME now that I am in Denver,,,and so my Vit D has most likely changed.

The Krill Oil I use I get at the Health Food Store. I don't know if there is much difference from one brand to another because I have only used the one - brand name is NOW.
