A Pretty Nice Thanksgiving is Planned, You're Invited

Friday, March 15, 2013

I discovered I was sabotaging my efforts by setting my short term weight loss goals. How? since I was really doing well, meeting and setting new ones? It seems I lowered my fitness minutes when I was holding out to make a new short term goal till I lost the last half pound.
The system rounded down that .5 pound and thought I was at maintenance. So my calorie range zoomed up when I changed my calorie burn when the pool closed.

I didn't think anything about it, just started eating in the new range, healthy food still, but way more calories.

If I had lost that last .5 pound before the pool closed and I changed my fitness minutes, my nutrition tracker would have stayed at the lower calories.

So, I've taken the bull--my stubborn brain-- by the horns and entered all the weight I want to lose. It will take until next Thanksgiving if all goes well. And the nutrition tracker calorie range is back down to the level where I will continue to lose weight.

I can't remember being that weight. I might just put myself on maintenance then, just to experience the wonder of what it's like. And to get to wear the clothes that fit then for a little while.

There will be an awesome Thanksgiving celebration when I reach that goal. You're all invited. I already know the menu: Fresh Fruit Salad, Roasted Carrots, Citrus Brussels Sprouts with Onions, Holiday Grains with Almonds, Tea, Homemade Honey Lemon Whole Wheat Bread with Roasted Garlic Spread, and Baked Pumpkin Souffle with Walnuts sprinkled on top.

And after dinner, we're all going swimming!!

I am not sure I understand. Why are you counting calories? I think that if you follow Dr. F. you don't need to count calories?
I wrote more but will post it in my own blog. I prefer to focus on eating healthy, on eating when hungry, and on sound basic rules based on common sense regarding food choice. But, that's my personal idea and experience.

Can't reason with a computer! At least you figured out what was going on with the programming and were able to correct it!
