Finding Passion

Friday, March 15, 2013

Twenty years ago i was very passionate about riding bikes, i used to ride my bike to work/home 20 miles a day. I was in the best shape and i was able to eat anything i wanted without the fear of gaining weight. I loved the feeling a being free, feeling the wind on my face and the sun on my back. The world looks different on a bike. Then one day i was hit by a car and flipped over the handle bars, i wasn't seriously injured, i had scraps, bruises and road rash but nothing broken, only my will to ride a bike again. I guess they say if you fall off the horse you get back on it, i never did. Eight years ago i decided to try mountian biking, i always wanted to try it. I spent $1000 bucks on a custom bike and today it is sitting in my garage collecting dust. My Husband has tried to give that bike away, but i always tell him "No, i'm going to ride it." I think the time has come. I'm looking for a bike store to get it tuned up and i want to purchase a trailor for my son, just to pull him around town. One of my goals that i always wanted to do was ride my bike through Yosemite Valley. We live pretty close to Yosemite and i think it will help me find my passion agian.

You can do it, Erin! I need to get back into my bike too. There's something about bikes that can't compare to walking... I think it's the speed and the sense of freedom.

emoticon emoticon Get back on that bike! :)

Good for you. I have a mountain bike in my basement that is collecting dust as well. It is in need of a good tune up - just like yours - and then I would be able to return to the joy of riding once again as well. Amazing how trauma can sometimes prevent us from doing the things that we once loved. I wish you well! emoticon

Yay! I just told my husband the other day I wanted a bike. Must be spring fever, lol. You should go for it, it's great exercise and you can't beat Yosemite for the scenery!
