Prayers to help someone are needed

Friday, March 15, 2013

I am going to check out the new gym today and I am excited. I really need it. It is a bright sunny morning and I fell pretty good. The other thing I am doing ,I need prayers for, Yesterday while I was at one of my ladies houses, I was going to get her groceries, she told me Mary (whom is a friend of hers and I use to clean her house too.) wanted me to call her . I had called her last week, when I heard she had fallen and she said that they said she had her sprung her ankle.and I told her if she needed anything call me. Anyway I called her, she couldn't hardly talk without crying. You see she has just gotten over the shingles, and she is going blind, then the fall. She kept saying I am sorry for crying and she didn't know why she was. I told her not to be sorry , I understood why. She just wanted me to come over to talk to her. I need prayers to help me say the right things and help her through her hard times. She does have someone staying with her, but has no family here. I just pray God will guide me . I know she is depress, she is a retired nurse, and was use to doing most things for herself. Now she can't drive, has to use a walker and a wheel chair, can't see good enough to read. I can only imagine. I am going to find her a little gift and pray God will give me the right words to comfort her. Thank you for reading.

Oh dear. Shingles is so painful. One of my friends had it on her face. Was in hospital 3 days for it. God bless you for going. Books on Tape for the Blind is free, mailed to the house. She should qualify if she can't read now. emoticon

Prayers with you and for you.
My grandmother is going thru a lot of the same sort of things.
It's tough.
Sometimes you don't have to say anything, all you have to do is be there.
God Bless you and your caring heart.

Does she listen to books on tape? Those are so entertaining.

I will be saying prayers, but I am sure that just your being there is going to be comforting to her.

HUGS and prayers, my dear.

I am sure your friend will be so happy that you took the time to visit her. A caring friend means so much when a person doesn't feel well, and I imagine it's especially hard for someone who has been so independent.

There are times when people really don't want the words. The fact that you answered her call demonstrates the care that you have for this person. Although it seems trite to say there are times when people really do just want a shoulder to cry on. A solid shoulder and the willingness to listen attentively may be just what she needs to sort her thoughts and regroup. You will never be able to "fix" the difficulties that God has put in her path, but you can be there to read her a chapter of her favorite book; offer a little humor to lighter her burden; or help her to understand that she is still a viable human being. She may appreciate knowing what she brings to YOUR life rather than what is missing from hers!

God Bless

Skeeter
