Ouch!

I am so sore today. My body feels like someone has been hitting me with a baseball bat. I should have known today was going to be painful. The instructing kept saying to make a fist with your butt cheeks and being the obedient sparker that I am, I followed instructions. Now my glutes are killing me, but it's all good.

I was scheduled to do the second workout in the Spartacus series this morning - the Ab Attack - so I could be able to blog about, it but I decided to give it a miss. I hope to do it later in the day though, so you will definitely hear about it. The plan is to go through all the seven workouts then come up with a plan for the workouts.

On to other less exciting things - following the elections, the 'losers' have filed a case in court disputing the outcome. There is a very uneasy calm in the country, like the calm before a storm. Everyone seems to have an opinion about who rigged the elections and how it was done. Whatever the decisions of the courts, we are still not in the clear. Only God can see Kenya through this whole mess.

    I love it when I a m sore from my workout. And lately I"m not. Next week I am going to bump up my weights so I am working hard again =)

I hope your country settles peacefully soon. I'll be so relieved for you, once things are "normal" if there is such a thing.

    Make a fist with your butt cheeks? Seriously??? That sounds just SO wrong.

With regard to the pain, I must be a real wimp because coach Nicole's 6 minute glutes workout made me that sore. I can only imagine what "Spartacus" must be like.

    Very good sign if you can feel your glutes! Personnaly after the session with my trainer Wednesday, I can feel my upper back and triceps a lot.. legs a bit less.

Hope the aftermath of elections goes well for you. It is sad when things go wrong. Humans can be the worst animals sometimes and it is such a waste! Sending all good energy your way!

    Hahaha... I've always think of an old video instructor saying about bridge-ups, "squeeze those glutes like you're trying to hold onto a $100 bill from your butt cheeks!" ROFL! I think of it every time I squeeze in bridge-ups or squats.

I always take a day off between hard muscle workouts. Cardio every day (except Sunday) but when I used to try strength training the same amount as cardio, I soon found myself suffering from symptoms of overtraining.

The new workouts always hurt more. But you will see more results quicker because if you change it up it just works better.

Politics are so hard to understand, sometimes it seems as if everybody is lying. I will keep praying for your country, because my dear friend Lucy lives there.

    if your exercising hurts so much you want to blow it all off forever, you're doing something wrong. are you taking short recovery breaks regularly enough during your sessions? are you working slowly and gently? don't tear anything!

as for Kenya, it's Obama country. but change from within doesn't come instantly. ok I have no idea about the country-- unfortunately-- but I do get the impression that a lot has changed already. how about those presidential debates you held? was that good for anything? or just a show? I was wondering about that...
