2.2 lbs gone again...YAHOO-Need to reflect

Thursday, March 14, 2013

Okay well 2.2lbs gone again and I am not sure what is going right this time.

Anyways so I have been doing some reflecting and research as well this seems really easy right at the moment and I know some of you would be jealous if I told you what I have been eating. (I will in a bit lol)

So since January 1 I have shedded 15lbs give or take. It has been relatively easy. In mid December I started birth control again after some doctoring and being diagnosed with PCOS. I was told I needed to lose weight ugh the dreaded word and I could self manage my PCOS and it would make getting pregnant easier. Well ain't that easier said that done is what I thought. Well the OB told me that the YAZ birth control would help with the acne that I seemed to get in September after being 30 for 9 months like really never had a blemish when I was a teen and now talk about difficult to deal with. I don't wear make up as I have nice skin why cover it up. Needless to say I did research on the YAZ about side effects did not really look into the reviews because I needed some relief of the symptoms I was having at the time and was kind of desperate. My doctor told me to try it for 3months and see but here is a year prescription if you like it stay on it. So far so good no side effects that are negative. Well losing weight and it being easy as it is when I say EASY I mean it. I have went to the gym 2 times since Christmas and I will admit I walk about 30 minutes a day on average just because I do. I have eaten salads for lunch since I started work January 21 and well I think this may be helping but is not the be all and end all. emoticon I drink water primarily as it is my first choice. emoticon I have though not emoticon eating JUNK. I eat chips and cookies and cake. YES AND THE SCALE HAS STILL BEEN DROPPING. I even had my first wedding of two planned in India and I was on vacation so as if I am not drinking or eating the healthy stuff. I love their sweets.

So what is it that I have discovered the last two days?

Well I did more research on this YAZ birth control and read reviews which I am leery on all the time. Anyways long and short there is a diuretic in the birth control so I am losing water weight. I know I have work to do but this makes me want to work hard and tone up now that I am dropping the water weight that I retained years ago when I had to be on predinisone as a child for a liver condition I had. Can I say good by to one long awaited dreadful weight gain and struggle I had as a child with the help of birth control and begin my new healthy living? I am going to absolutely try and this gives me more motivation than anyone can think or believe.

I do not know if what I read is absolutely a 100% true or would it be for anyone else but it seems to be true for me in my situation. emoticon

Yay! What a great lose 2 pounds...and without "really" trying....but you are. You have just built some healthy eating habits in there...and you are still working maybe you are used to what you are doing, and it no longer seems like work! Hooray!
I also have PCOS. I didnt know if you knew that?? I take metformin to manage the excess sugar and just got a script for Spirolactone which is a dieratic that will help with all my acne(I'm 41 for crying out loud) and excess water. Two other things to think about for the future(after kids)...although the Metformin helps you get pregnant...because it regulates your blood sugar and will help your ovaries to work better(just an FYI).
OK! Good for you. Celebrate! xo

First of all .......... CONGRATULATIONS!!! emoticon Losing 2.2 pounds is fantastic and you should be proud of yourself.

Second.... You are very smart into investigating and reviewing how YAZ birth control is affecting your body. People take meds all the time and don't really check to see what the side affects are..... as I tell my friends,,, every medication has a benefit and a consequence.... it is our job to make sure that the benefit outweights the consequence. Looks like you are doing that and Good for You Ladybug.

Third........ YES!!! I am jealous that you are eating and losing weight!!!! But I agree with ISAVEDME80 ,,, eating salads for lunch every day is pretty good for you and even if you did not change anything else,,, this is a good healthy change.

WootWoot on that 2lb loss!!! Keep it up girl emoticon
