So it's been almost a week ago when I wiped out on the treadmill - let me tell you, it's not a good idea to forget it's on! I was working out with a friend last Saturday -- she was on my elliptical and I was on the treadmill. I'd finished my mile run and hopped off to get her some water. When I walked back into the room I forgot I'd left the treadmill on so I could do my cool-down...and I stepped up on it to give her the water. Needless to say I went flying! Too bad she didn't have a video camera, I'm sure I put on quite a show.
So, I've spent the week nursing bruises on my arm, hand and both knees. Today was the first time my knee didn't hurt when I got out of bed. But I do have to say that I've continued on the elliptical and that's helped keep things loosened up.
Anyway I'm hopeful that I'll be back in shape to tackle the treadmill again on Saturday. Then maybe, just maybe next week I can get back to the regular routine.
Moral of the story...you gotta think!
Anyway, I've been giving this whole Biggest Loser challenge a lot of thought. The last two challenges were pretty sad...a total loss of 4 pounds over both. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to be down, even that small amount. But the first one I ever did last summer I lost 10 pounds! For these last two I was much more modest in my goal. I figured I should lower the amount since I was getting closer to the goal. But now I'm thinking maybe that whole thought process was flawed. Why NOT go for the gusto! So this time I've decided to throw in everything and ambitiously set a new goal.
This spring, I am again in search of that 10 pound
And gosh darn - when I got on the scale today to get started I discovered there's a half pound missing...so instead of 10 I only have to lose 9.5...gee, I hope it doesn't make me to complacent.
