Protein, Protein, Protein and CleanER Eating!

Since I injured my quadriceps in my left leg, Iíve been really focused on loading up on protein. I know that protein helps to rebuild the muscles, so Iíve been aiming for 85-90 grams/day. Prior to this, I was feeling pretty good about my protein intake if I got 50-70 grams/day. The thing that Iíve noticed since really increasing my protein is that I am staying full a LOT longer. Additionally, Iíve cut out refined sugar in any processed food, and also in any sugary treats. For the most part, Iíve avoided the sugary treats. As a result of the no-sugar challenge that Iím doing (3 weeks total), Iíve been increasing the number of fruits & veggies that I get daily. All in all, Iíve been eating a much cleaner diet than before. This has helped me to feel a lot better in general. I am not really having cravings for all the sugary sweets that I used to love and itís really making me stop to think about what Iím putting in my mouth.

    I love eggs add egg yolks (from pastured chickens) to smoothies or oatmeal is a great way to boost your vitamins and minerals.
