A caretaker.

Thursday, March 14, 2013

I am taking care of my husband 24 hours a day. What's the difference in taking care of your aged loved ones 24 hours a day and being a stay at home Mom and taking care of your infant child? It is a very hard job to do with no instruction, just like no instruction on caring for your children. I'm finding that the biggest difference is the verbal abuse. I'm having a VERY hard time with this because I know that my husband is NOT like this!! This is what I got so far this morning! He is sleeping right now and I'm crying, but I will be over it by the time he wakes up. I just have to keep God in control and know that what Bill is saying is not true and is NOT him. I guess this is the worse part of "For better or worse."
Trying to stay strong!!

Copy and paste the links to find some, what I hope are, helpful online support resources. Like SP is a place of support and encouragement to each other in our health struggles, there are places online for caregiver support also. You need that support when he's sleeping and you are crying - to go to a forum and say "this just happened" and they will give you the best advice and encourage your heart b/c they've been there or are there too.

You are not alone. And you are a good, wonderful, loving person. ((((hugs))))

It is so difficult when we see the ones we love having to go through this. They are not aware but we sure are and it does hurt. Hope all goes well for you and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry you are having to go through this. I am a caretaker for my mother, but she is not verbally abusive. Just keep trying to remember what he really is and push through the rest. We are here for you!
