Apart from SparkPeople's nutrition tracker, I use MyFitnessPal App on my phone to track my calories, keeping me honest and at 2000 calories a day whether I am fasting intermittently or not. It really is easy and very quick. You can even do it with a friend,
I am doing well and enjoying the journey very much as it is getting easier by the day. I fast for 16 to 17 hours 5 days a week (8 pm to 12 noon) and then have breakfast on two mornings a week, as I choose.
I am moving in the pool (exercises) for an hour in the mornings on weekdays,(my knee is handling it right now) and I am going to a new yoga teacher tomorrow morning and will be doing it 2 mornings a week.
Right now I am making low-carb cauliflower soup and it will be frozen in portions so that I can plonk it in a pot for lunches. This one will get cream in it when reheated. 7 carbs a cup. Delish.
I keep a cup of crudités (carrots and celery) in water (in a mug) in the fridge and I make up some hummus for the week and that is often my snack in the afternoon.
My scrambled eggs dish today was made with sautéed spring onions, red pepper, garlic and broccoli with some grated white cheddar cheese. Truly scrumptious and filling and a cool way to keep getting the veggies in. Most of my carbs come from vegetables, avocado and some from cheeses. Just about no fruit at the moment. The occasional plum on the weekend because I happen to have some right now but I shall not be buying any more fruit for the next few months. I am eating some legumes, (mostly lentils) but very little. Whatever it is I eat, I keep it to 2000 calories or under, but no less than 1800.
Water is the favoured beverage and other than that, one cup of black filter coffee in the mornings after water exercises and perhaps one cup of tea with milk during the day and then rooibos or some herb tea if I should so wish.
JB (my son from another mother and my aqua teacher) came back from a trip to Vietnam this week – I hadn’t seen him for three weeks – and the first thing he said after hugging me was “You FEEL thinner!” so my week was made.
I am taking JB out for dinner tonight and have already factored in my food on the tracker (including the red wine:) so I know what I shall be eating already, and I am really looking forward to it.
