Push That Tush -- Perfect Is Boring

Thursday, March 14, 2013

"Congratulations! You're Not Perfect!
It's Ridiculous To Want To Be Perfect Anyway.
But Then, Everybody's Ridiculous Sometimes, Except Perfect People.
You Know What Perfect Is?
Perfect Is Not Eating Or Drinking Or Talking Or Moving A Muscle Or
Making Even The Teensiest Mistake.
Perfect Is Never Doing Anything Wrong –
Which Means Never Doing Anything At All.
Perfect Is Boring!
So You're Not Perfect! Wonderful! Have Fun!
Eat Things That Give You Bad Breath!
Trip Over Your Own Shoelaces! Laugh! Let Somebody Else Laugh At You!
Perfect People Never Do Any Of Those Things.
All They Do Is Sit Around And Sip Weak Tea And
Think About How Perfect They Are.
But They're Really Not One-Hundred-Percent Perfect Anyway.
You Should See Them When They Get The Hiccups!
Phooey! Who Needs 'Em?
You Can Drink Pickle Juice And Imitate Gorillas And Do Silly Dances And
Sing Stupid Songs And Wear Funny Hats And
Be As Imperfect As You Please ....And Still Be A Good Person.
Good People Are Hard To Find Nowadays.
And They're A Lot More Fun Than Perfect People Any Day Of The Week. "
~~Stephen Manes, Be a Perfect Person in Just Three Days!

When I try to be something I'm not,
it almost leaves a metalic taste in my mouth.
On the other hand...when I am trying to develop new habits,
I am trying to be something I am currently NOT but ...hope TO BE.
I guess the answer is to identify what I need to do
towards becoming more LIKE the person I want to be...
but making it my own.

I'll just keep trying new things until I get it right.

“The thing that is really hard, and really amazing,
is giving up on being perfect
and beginning the work of becoming yourself.”
~~ Anna Quindlen

What a gorgeous butterfly! Gee, we've really got to stop doing that perfect thing! (Although I have a sister who had a perfect childhood. Obviously, we didn't grow up in the same family.)

I certainly don't have to worry about being perfect. I would settle for being normal. LOL.

I think we know deep down that there is no such thing as a perfect person or relationship or marriage but we can still strive towards that goal knowing it's unattainable

Great post: I think the hardest times are when you need to accept yourself for not being perfect. I tend to like to comment about these times, when I am out of them and feeling successful. I am trying to learn to express the difficult non perfection times more.

That was a perfect blog for me to read today! It made me smile and head off to the imperfect world of institutional testing.

Perfection is highly overrated!

I like to say thay I am "Perfectly imperfect!" - yes... There is no true perfection. Perfection does only come as we accept our flaws as an integral part of who we are...
