I thought that title might get your attention! emoticon

I was so excited to realize this! I have so much weight to lose, it seems near impossible to reach, and I've failed so many times before, keep picking my big butt back off the ground, dusting it off to try-try-try again. Believe it or not, hearing this actual 'goal' date was encouraging (the date is still in this same year!)... and hearing it makes me want to remain DETERMINED and FOCUSED to reach my weight-loss goal!!!

emoticon Camille that is AWESOME and hearing your great progress and tracking my own frustration with the scales has me thinking I too need to lean towards the LOW carb options as I do well losing as long as I stay away from grains and sugars but even portioned amounts of either within my acceptable calorie range and emoticon literally overnight 3-5 pounds jump back. I read that such high fluctuations when eating the refined carbs = 'sensitivity' so am working to increase the veggies and decrease all carbs with the exception of steel cut oats some mornings and brown rice or quinoa.

Goal by Christmas sounds like an amazing way for you to celebrate...go for it!!!!

I bet your doctor is amazed!!!!

Your doing great. That's exciting that your goal will be met by the end of the year. We share the same birthday, and we are the same height. Only difference, I will be 63 this year. emoticon

HI! Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

I haven't cut out all carbs, I get my carbs from veggies and fruit and beans and a little whole-grain rice a few times per week.

When we go to a Mexican restaurant, I take with me a Veggie Pack (a group of veggies I've created in my SparkPeople Groupings which makes it quick and easy to pack and track) and I use veggies to dip into the salsa instead of the chips. My typical veggie pack will contain 90 g celery; 50 g Jicama; 40 g Snap Peas; 50 g carrots; 50 g bell peppers... something like that. I often munch on some of it in the car on the way to the restaurant which helps keep hunger at bay for more disciplined ordering.

If I don't eat all of the veggies while at the restaurant, which I often don't, then I nibble on it during snacks other times in a day.

ORDERING @ MEXICAN RESTAURANT: I'll order things like Fish Tacos with no tortillas and ask them to put it on a bed of shredded lettuce with pico de gallo; chicken fajitas & a plate of shredded lettuce and I put the fajita mixture on my lettuce and top with salsa for my own fajita salad, etc.

I don't eat breads... except I might indulge in one roll or piece of bread once or twice per week.

I know for many, this type of discipline might seem quite restricting, but the older I get, the more I realize that Calories-In/Calories-Out dieting just doesn't work for me! My body processes carbs differently than young folks and I have PCOS on top of my age issues.

I can't eat white potatoes or breads without significant weight gain, I don't care if I exercised 2 hours and burned over 1000 calories during Zumba. And now that I've calculated that I can lose my entire 100 lbs by the end of this year, I am even more determined to keep up the discipline.

Big hugs and great wishes for your successful journey!!!
