Day 172 Helping a Neighbor

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Today was some what busy. I had appointments with my 2year old Elizabeth this morning, we visited with my mom and her overly lovable dog Sheeba. Elizabeth just absolutely adores her, then came home played and had lunch with my hubby. We even went over to hang a few pieces of drywall which got interrupted when we noticed our neighbor having trouble with his truck. So of course we go and help, most of the people around us are elderly and very nice. Turns out he thought the ground was hard yesterday when he parked his truck on his lawn, and went to go get it out last night and all it did was spin and sink farther down into the ground. Today he went back out thinking the freeze last night would help, all that did was make it worse, his truck was buried to the axles. Poor guy, he was trying so hard. So we pull out our 4 ton jack, and some big boards, and we hoist the truck out of there. He was so thankful he wanted to pay us, but all we wanted to do was help a neighbor in need. That sure put a smile on my face today. When the rest of my kids got home, as usual homework and then dinner. LOL! My now 6 year old doesn't understand that words by themselves and words in books are the same words, so she is struggling with the 100 or so words she can read only when she is trying to read books. But she'll get there. NO exercise in today, which bummed me out. Well no real exercise in today, but it was a good day all in all anyhow. A good day to reflect on how wonderful it is to help others. Hope everyone had a fantastic day today.
