You can only be an example

You can't push anyone to do anything they don't wanna do! Sometimes it's hard to watch ppl make the choices they make, but it's their life. I was walking into WERQ today and this woman was walking ahead of me and stopped to tell me "I always stand behind u in class you and you always have so much energy! You inspire me to work harder, being behind you!" I got to talking to her about, her getting knee replacements and how her life has changed. I called my dad and told him, didn't make much impact on him. This woman is his age, around the same weight. Everything big that happens in it his life, always happens when he has no other choice. So I guess just like everything else he will be as miserable as he can be before he takes any action. Anyway I am happy this woman is doing so good and coming to a class full of 20-30 yr old girls in her 60's. I wish my dad was as young at heart and she seemed to be. I guess all I can do is drift positive stories in his direction and hope for the best.

My water aerobics teacher friend is having a pool party at the gym on Saturday! If your in the area it's at golds and anyone can come! It's 10-11:30 am this Saturday! Should be fun! I guess teens can come too as long as they are at least 16 and with an adult. I am excited, I hope some of the old ppl that fell off the wagon and are scared to buy memberships again can come! I love water aerobics, its so fun and gentle on the body. Plus you can chat while doing it!

Still hovering in the 1600-1700 calorie range. Keeping up my 10k steps a day, today I got 15k. It's been active at work lately, which is nice. I finally got a work run in on Tuesday. It was great to get outside for a run for the first time in probably 3 weeks. I have a love/hate relationship with the dreadmill at the gym. Love that I can listen to Pandora while I run. Hate that I tend to push myself too hard and make myself do a 29 minute 5k even tho it's miserable. Love that I lose track of time when I run outside. Hate that I watch the clock like a hawk at the gym and time just crawls by. I need new music for my phone, then running would be better. I should put that on my to do list for this weekend since the weather is better.

I am gonna make my friend Vegan Rainbow Cupcakes this weekend for her birthday =P as long as they got a place to go, I will make them!

My father ignores me as well. I think it's a male thing. He has told me before that he doesn't intend to be told what to do by a woman. I'm a nurse and am just trying to help him but it's his life. It's a shame a man doesn't tell him the same things as he might listen then. LOL.

I think it's cool that you have a woman in your 60s in class. I would sometimes like to try things but don't want to be in the way.

The pool party sounds fun. I wish I had some fun plans for this weekend. It is calling for rain here.

The cupcakes sound good.

I love Pandora too. Soo addicting. To add more variation I combine all my stations together, makes it a lot better. :)

By the way, I'm extremely jealous that your friend has a friend that makes vegan rainbow cupcakes! They sound amazing! Hope all is well.

My mom and her youngest sister both had knee replacement surgery in their late 50s (just one more reason I try to stay fit and active) - but their older sister never did. Some people would rather complain than change, I think!

My mom is the same way - each year I try to tell her that there are plenty of people her age becoming fit and starting from an even worse place that she is! She's had 5 kids and blames us for her big stomach - "oh, it's because of my pregnancies, it'll never go down". No, it's because you're overweight and your legs and arms are SKINNY, so you carry it all in the middle. She just makes excuses. I want her to change because I behave the way she does, only I don't want to reach her age before I make that change.

I love what that woman said to you - you are an inspiration to many people!
