My oldest son (7 years old) has gotten used to me going to the gym Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and in his own way is making sure I go on those days. Whenever I do a video my 7 year old does them along side me and tells me what exercises he thinks I should do next. When I stretch or do sit-ups my 2 year old sits on my stomach.

I love that my sons are helping me in their own special way. I did not think it mattered having them supporting my exercise habits but I am finding it does. I also have my 19 year old niece going to the gym with me. In the past I decided to keep my fitness and weight loss goals private but the more vocal I am about it the more support I find. However, I have encountered some people who feel the need to tell me I am doing some things wrong and I'm ignoring those people.

Yes, I haven't lost weight (I stepped on the scale prior to starting this post and I lost 2 pounds but it isn't my day to weigh myself but I'm happy about those 2 pounds) but I feel better about myself physically. Next week I am going to the doctor to discuss my fitness regime and make sure I am still healthy.

I want to thank all the members who have sent goodies, messages, and comments I appreciate them all. I usually post from my phone and it is harder to reply to certain things so I want you all to know I appreciate you.

I am hoping by my 26th birthday (June 7th) I have lost some pounds hopefully at least 10. This is a process and I am taking my time as long as I continue to work on bettering myself I am very happy.

My 13 yr old daughter has been eating healthy with me. We both went down a few sizes and feel so much better.
You are great role model for your boys!

emoticon Dee and glad to know you'll be thinking of me on my birthday. Weddings sound like they are a lot of work! I'm going to keep encouraging my kids to work out with me and hopefully it sticks and they start to do it on their own.

Glad you got a swim and good luck walking 4 miles this weekend :-)

Very Cool indeed...what a fun MOM you are!
Glad to hear You are pumped about your son's attitude. I just love that.
Your birthday...my son's wedding rehersal. I'll think of you on that day. LOL
Today was good. We got a lot of details hammered out. Not there yet but the dialog has started as far as whom is to do what.
I did stop and swim for an hour after midnights this morning. Slept for a time and missed my 3 mile walk as D.H. was re-drawing the C.A.D. drawing of the rental tent for the wedding so we could fit as many chairs for the dinner as possible. He did a good job and got 118 in there. He needed me there to explain what table went where and why...cake table, food, dance floor ect.
So that was worth it. I'll try and make up for it by walking 4 miles each day this weekend when I'm off. It's all about trade off's right.
Super glad to hear your doing well.
Hugs,
Dee

Thanks ladies! I appreciate the kind words. I did not even think about the long term positive effects this could have on my sons. I'll get my oldest some light weights and encourage them more.

You are doing such a great job! And how awesome is it that you are building fitness into the normal life pattern of your sons. Isn't it wonderful to think that they won't remember a time in their lives that you didn't exercise, didn't make healthier food choices, etc. What a great foundation you are building in their lives. Way to Go!!!

That is so awesome about your kids motivating you!! My son is almost seven and he is very much like that too, he loves doing my vidoes with me and I got him a really light pair of weights to go along with what we were doing lol I love that you listen to them and include them in your exercise, what an awesome mom!
