My husband and I adopted a new dog this weekend. He's a one-year-old Pomeranian who was kept in a crate in a closet by his previous owners. He only has three legs because one of them had to be removed.
So far, he's adjusting very well. He's an absolute sweetheart, and the only thing he can't do yet is climb stairs (although he's already handling curbs with ease).
The cats are... coping.
As I write this, our new dog is sleeping in one of his new beds, next to the couch. All I can think when I look at him (aside from "awwww") is "why would someone get a dog just to keep it in a closet?"
I'm looking forward to exploring the parks all over again, with a slightly different perspective...
