So apparently I wasn't challenged enough with pregnancy...

...so I went ahead and broke my toe, too. You know, for fun.
Sunday night I was coming out of Max's room at about 11pm after falling asleep with him. The room was dark. His castle toy was in the middle of the floor. My toe caught it, and I've never heard some of the expletives that came out of my mouth at that moment. I managed to keep from screaming, though, and Max didn't wake up. Johnny came to my rescue, however, and we found out not only about the break/sprain/jam or whatever, but also that I sliced part of it wide open. So that was fun.
Luckily, Monday we had a snow day so I didn't have to call into school. I'm confident that I should have, whether I actually WOULD have or not remains to be seen but something tells me I would have tried to tough it out. Anyway, couldn't get shoes on on Tuesday so I've been wearing flip flops in 30 degree weather. Yesterday and today have been pretty uncomfortable, and the greyish purple hue of my foot is growing and nearly matching my tattoo, which is fun.
It turns out that it makes people really uncomfortable to see a big fat pregnant woman limping. We had to go to Lowes to get some stuff for an art installation my 7th graders are doing, and I got to zoom around the store on one of the motorized carts that I swore I'd never use. I felt 80. Especially when it beeped like a semi when I had to back up.
So the limping has been less than fun, and that also causes my balance to be all weird so my back and my hip are hurting like whoa. One more week until 3rd trimester, and I seriously don't know how I'm going to last another 10-12 weeks. Thank goodness it's starting to get warmer here (55 tomorrow and 67 on Friday!) so I can wear leggings and skirts and not have to worry about actual PANTS.
Saturday we make our spring break trip to Wisconsin. We are planning on hitting up Great Wolf Lodge this time instead of Kalahari since I can't do any of the slides. Johnny starts a new job next week that he's very excited about. I'm very excited for him. It will be nice to have a dual income again!
