This morning I woke to a normal day and went about my routine, getting the kids ready and getting to work. At work, I decided to check my e-mail in between tasks and I saw an update from my friend's Caring Bridge site. I knew yesterday she had gone down for her 8 week check-up. 8 weeks since she had been tested and diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. This woman is barely 40 and facing a very grim diagnosis.
She has handled herself with incredible grace and faith during these couple months, constantly insisting that God was healing her/had healed her. She continued to take prescribed medication, though they did lower the dosage once to adjust for the side effects. As her hair has been falling out, she's been dealing with skin rashes, etc. from this medication, I don't think I've seen her once without a smile on her face and giving glory to God for the healing she knew he was doing.
The realist in me wanted to be cautiously optimistic and believe with her but with reservations, in case God had other plans. Well, chalk one up for God and the faith of my friend because yesterday after they did her tests and studied her scans for 2-3 times the normal time, she was brought into her doctor's office and given the news...there is now NO CANCER in her body! I cried when I read her update. God was so faithful and responded to the faith of this woman who instead of finding reasons to blame God or fight him, she fell in step with Him and trusted.
GOD IS SO GOOD! May my faith continue to increase so I can do the same!
