St. Patty's Day Races

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Well I am down to just a few days until my St. Patty's Day 10K Race which will be held on the 16th. I'm feeling better about it after managing to run a 6 miles on Sunday afternoon. It was the first time I have ran 6 miles since last June when I injured myself in a 10K race. It fel good to do it and my Garmin told me that I averaged a 11:45 min/mile and that I burned 746 calories. My weekly goal is to burn 1000! emoticon

My left achilles and calf are still achy. Its mildly worrisome and annoying. More water...more stretching...more Advil emoticon And hopefully that will get me through Saturday.

I'm wondering....are you running on St. Patty's Day ...and is it a costume run? I watched the people last year run in tutus and large hats and funky glasses. The idea of any of that stuff touching me makes me crazy! Do you run in costume?? How do you STAND it?

Good luck to everyone who is running this St. Patty's Day Weekend - I want to hear results next week! emoticon emoticon

I've never run a costume race. It looks fun, but honestly how do they run in that crap. Maybe I'm taking it too seriously (shrugs)
