Push That Tush - Aging Gracefully

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

~~Eleanor Roosevelt

Remember ... I'm a work of art in progress....Use your imagination
think of my underwire bra as Michaelangelo's scafolding.
When I decide to take down the scaffolding and go au natural,
I may actually have less wrinkles in my sistine ceiling....
dunno....I'll have to check.
{...what?...too much information? } emoticon

"Aging is not lost youth but a new stage of opportunity and strength."
~~Betty Friedan

I found a great little article on Makeup tips for mature women,
something I may need some day
{ can stop laughing now}
Going glam-ma: Makeup tutorial for senior citizens

    I don't wear foundation now that I am retired, but I have to put on my eyebrows and eye makeup most days - when I don't go out, I don't bother. Pain in the butt putting on the eyebrows all the time (since I have been 14). I have very little eyebrow hair and it is light although I am a brunette. My hair is natural salt and pepper now - stopped dying it about 4 years ago - happy about that. I am happy with me - just wish I could shed the lbs - all Carbs stick to my ribs. Being a Diabetic this is not a good thing!!! Love your blogs - great sence of humor and great information...Hugs from LI, NY

    I don't usually use make-up but have thought about going with the elderly matron approach where you apply your make-up to look like The Joker. I worked with a woman like that and Millie was the only woman I worked with her age that anyone younger ever talked about. Yes, it was all negative banter about her garish gigantic red lips, parrot colored eye applications, and large hair but it's hard to be noticed at all at her age. I think you would be cute as a Joker Wannabe. You could carry this off. It has the added bonus that the neighbors won't screw around with you. They will be afraid of you.

    I was never a fan of make up. It makes me itch and I never liked the results. As a result for not using it I have fewer skin problems and so far less wrinkles than those who have "masked" themselves throughout the years. It I use anything it is mascara and lipstick and eyeliner.
