are packed up and ready to go! We're leaving in the morning for our very long ride home to Iowa from Arizona via south Texas!! Lots of miles, lots of riding and possibly way too much togetherness over a period of 10 days of being confined TOGETHER in the car! I can do this, I can do this...really, I can do this! emoticon

I've bought fresh fruit, baby carrots, low-sodium V8 juice and yogurt to eat for some of our meals. I have hard boiled eggs for the first few days. I have a plan to get some exercise each day. I can do this...really, I can! emoticon

I had hoped we could go straight home, but this is one time DH is getting his way with the plans. A visit to some long-time friends and a few relatives is probably a good idea, but for me the issue is that I just want to go home since we've been gone since last November. But, I can do this! emoticon

Stay tuned...I'll try to check in and let you know how we're managing all this travel/riding time. emoticon

Wow, Jeanne! I didn't realize that you were headed for south Texas! That is really taking the long way around. Sounds like you have planned well for the food and hope that the togetherness doesn't get to be too much! Have fun and keep in touch!!

Remember to stop every two hours and walk a bit to keep the legs circulation in good shape. Have a safe and hopefully pleasing journey.

Jeannie, You planned ahead like you did before you left for AZ. I know your trip was shorter as you went directly there. I do know that sometimes with too much togetherness it's easy to get on each others nerves. . .I know you and feel you will deal with this as gracefully as you do everything else. I just read the chat and I'm glad you did well today. Walking around Walmart is great exercise. I haven't stepped in that store for years and don't like it. I do like to occasionally go to Target as the quality of their products seems better to me. I'm curious as to what king of weather you'll have by the time you are home. Well wishes and prayers for a good trip getting home and that you 2 Lovebirds are still speaking by the time you get there--LOL! You are so awesome and caring that Richard should remember that. . .

PS - Honestly my Birthday was my best one yet. I'll chat tomorrow and tell about my day.

Love You,

Jill

Have a great trip and I am sure the planning will make the trip more successful. I always pack a lot of fruits and veggies and hard boiled eggs - I added things like nuts and such as well. Have fun and enjoy the trip.

Jeannie, I'm wishing you a safe and happy travel time as you go home. Enjoy your time and look at it as more of an adventure than a chore. Texas is nice and warm this time of year, but you don't want to be here in the summer...lol. Keep us posted on your trip, and I'm sure the 10 days will pass quickly! Hugz, Sharon

emoticon Of Course You CAN Do This!! You have Planned, Prepared, and Loaded Up! And that is over half the Battle in my Experience. One good thing that I have noticed is that a lot of Truck Stops and Gas Stations have started having Healthy Snack Options available along with the Sugary Snack Bombs.

If you have to take side trips, enjoy the time with friends and family. If these are people you rarely see, remember that they won't be there forever and enjoy every minute with them now while you and they are healthy. Have great trip home and watch the weather. It can be tricky in March. Can't wait till you here every day as often as you want.

I know what you mean. When we go visiting the kids, it's great to go, wonderful to be there, but when Im ready to go home, I just want to GO and get there as fast as I can! We used to be able to make the trip from Arkansas to Indiana in one go, but now find we need to split it into two days to not be overly exhausted. We made the trip from Arkansas to California in three days, coming home in two. Sometimes I think my husband still thinks he's an over-the-road truck driver.

Take care and have a safe trip home!

South TX. is nice and warm as well as very dry. I think you will enjoy it as you travel. I do know it is tiring especially if you are looking at 10 days. Give me a yell if you can spare a couple minutes!! Would love it! Have very safe travels!!

Good luck on your travels toward home. We are snowbirds who winter in south Texas but we aren't leaving for Michigan (home) until the 1st. part of May! It's still too cold up there for me. emoticon
