More or Less Rest Day

Tuesday, a work at home day. The leg was stiff this morning. Running was out of the question. But walking wasn't as hard as yesterday. The pre-work walk was slow, about a 16 minute per mile pace; but I was able to sustain a 14 minute mile on the lunch walk.

Other that those two walks, plus the usual pullups and pushups in the morning, I didn't do anything for exercise. The stiff leg got better while walking, and didn't stiffen up sitting as much as it did yesterday. Progress is slower than I might like, but there is progress.

Now, off to bed. I won't have time to run tomorrow in any event, so it's not a big deal if the leg still won't let me. I can revisit the possibility of running on Thursday.

    Do what is best for that leg and it will recover. You did the right thing.

    Recovery, I have discovered, is a study in patience. As mom used to quip, "Slowly, slowly, catch-ee monkey!" You remember that phrase? Mom had a plethora of phrases that didn't always make sense but stuck in the mind to creep out in the oddest moments. emoticon
