I went to weight lifting for the first time in 2 weeks. To be frank, I was apprehensive and I didn't give it 100% because I was afraid of re-injuring my hip.

I'm totally given to taking whatever steps help me get stronger and allow me to stay in the game longer. Good for you for getting back into it, but doing it in a way you felt best about for this point in time. As they like to say in spin classes -- "It's your ride" -- meaning -- if the rest of the class is going to fast or with too much resistance -- adjust your bike for what you can do and in time you'll get stronger (guess it's true the other way around as well -- if you're so super strong and can do more than the instructor -- than add on more -- although that's certainly not me -- at least not yet! :-)

You sound like me today. I don't have a hip injury, but I did a intro to a boot camp class one on one. He had me holding 20 and 25 pounds barbells. emoticon I told him I had been suffering with bursitis for 5 1/2 weeks. I did okay with the right arm, but my left just would give; when I was asked to do certain exercises. I don't like lunges, because of an old knee injury. I found myself being hesitated several times. I have another one hour session on Monday. Then I plan to sign up for the real class next month. Keep up the good work! emoticon
