All-or-nothing attitude

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

I'm happy to say that I lost my "all-or-nothing" attitude a while ago. I love to exercise and try to fit it in nearly every day, even if it is only a short, brisk walk for 10 minutes. I do allow myself an occasional break, though.

I lost the negative attitude when I realized that we don't "have" time, we "make" time, so not having time to exercise became an invalid excuse.

For the most part, my challenge is food. I've done much better the past few days, but it's normally a struggle to stay within an acceptable range for the day.

I'm working toward getting to a place in my life where I can have a strong hold on both fitness and food. I'll make it, and I know you can too!

Thank you both for your comments! I love the "we can do it" logo you both have, and your "way to go" go logo, SusanElaine! Yes, this is a journey of discovery, and it's both fun and frustrating, but well worth it.

Yes. Its about balance. If you go all or nothing, its to hard to maintain. I'm working on that same issue. emoticon

emoticon The thought that helped me most is that we don't have to be perfect, we just have to make progress. It isn't a race to our new selves, but a time to explore and figure out what works and what we can do for a lifetime. I've been a roller coaster dieter, but I really think I have this thing figured out now. I believe we will both make it. emoticon
