I think I am finally getting over whatever was making me sick. (I thought I was coming down with strep throat, but I believe I just had a bad sore throat for a couple of days - thank goodness!!)
Yesterday, I skipped my evening classes. I just was not feeling up to sitting in class for 8 solid hours. I felt kind of guilty - I just hate missing classes. But honestly, I think it was good that I took a break to recharge. Instead of going home and crawling into bed, which I wanted to do so very badly, I decided to go for a SHORT walk. Even just 10 minutes to get some fresh air and get the dog a walk. But after I got out there, I just kept walking and walking. After about 45 minutes I finally came home (only because my phone/music died) and I felt a lot better.
With my break yesterday, I HAD to get my rear in gear and do some make-up. I came to the library this morning (still here) and worked on assignments. I am ahead of schedule (YAY!) and even got a 20 minute walk around campus in. I think I am going to take at least another 30 minute break before my classes start and walk around outside to get some steps in.
On a different note - I called my mom this morning and asked her if she would be interested in doing a 5/10K with me. Much to my surprise, she was pretty excited about it! So, we will probably be doing a 10k in about a month (Sat., April 20th) or a HALF MARATHON (!!!) on June 1st. I have never done a half marathon before (a couple of 5 and 10k's), so this would be a huge challenge. It would be after I graduate from college and would give me about 10 weeks to train for. I think it would be a huge motivator for me.
