I heard from Russ about doing the next podcast, and I'm kind of nervous about how well my mixed progress will be received. I'm at 181, so I'm up a pound from last month. But my body fat is down 1%, and I lost half an inch off my hips. Another non scale victory (NSV) is that at the gym last Friday I was lifting upper body weights and 2 college girls got on the machine after me and asked how I could lift so much. We laughed. But really, I was lifting more than twice as much as them.
Went to TRX last night. I didn't feel like going, but went anyway. and my knees started hurting, so I couldn't keep up with squats & lunges, so I just held a plank. And let me tell you, TRX, when you do a plank, you feet are in these straps, and it adds a level of instability, and really makes you work the core harder.
I was thinking about how to motivate myself to lose all 35 pounds and get to my goal by the cruise, Dec. 22. I thought of putting a pic of a ship on a jar & putting a dollar in the jar with every pound lost. But I've done this before, and it petered out. So maybe a jar with $35 in it, and I take a dollar out with every pound lost. And if I don't lose it all by the cruise, I donate the remaining money to charity. But a dollar doesn't buy much. So then I had an idea of a jar with 35 scratch off tickets. I would really look forward to scratching those tickets! And any left over I would have to give away to friends and family.
