Bye Duncan.

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Sorry I didnít blog yesterday. Work was crazy busy and when I got home my internet was acting all wonky. GRRR.
So, Iím counting yesterday as my rest day. I only got in my lunchtime walk and some ST for the day.

I had dinner with my client/friend who had to put her dog down. We both know he was in pain and that inside he really was a good dog. Pain and boredom (1 year old with a torn ACL) were driving him crazy. I think the bite that was the undoing was just out of pure pain and frustration. Duncan, buddy, Iím sorry we couldnít do more for you. Iím sorry you had to hurt and we miss you. Iím praying the rainbow bridge is a better place for you.

So needless to say, we ate and laughed and cried. Heís not hurting anymore and I guess that is what has to count.

I did over eat yesterday. We were talking about Duncan and eating at the same timeĖ not a good combo. Iím not going to worry about it. We both needed last night to say good-bye.

And just in memory, here is a picture Duncan is the big black boy with the red collar. .

Bye buddy

Oh the pain of losing a dog! I still feel it! emoticon Duncan is in a better place and it waiting with all of the other dogs that have gone on before us. They will play and keep each other company until their human comes and they cross the bridge together. BIG emoticon

Touched a nerve. My last childhood pet, a 20+ year old cat was just put down a week or so ago and now one of my other cats is missing and I'm completely stressed about it. I even had a dream that he was locked in a closet and went around and opened all the closets and sheds on the whole property!

Thanks for sharing and I'm sure that Duncan is relieved to be out of pain.

Aw, I'm so sorry Kitty! I'm having a hard time not crying just reading this! He was a beautiful doggy. It's so hard to see our fuzzy companions hurting. It's a shame that he had to die so young but at least he's not in pain anymore. Indulging on such an occasion is understandable and OK. Give your friend a hug for all of us. I know I miss my fuzzy babies terribly!! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of them. I honestly don't know if I'll ever get another dog or not. They bring a lot of joy into our lives but having to put them down just about kills me!!! I know you will see Duncan and many of the other doggies that you've helped when your time is up here and cross over the rainbow bridge! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

So sorry Kitty. I guess I missed the info about him biting? When dog's hurt they don't know how to control their pain it seems. My father in law got a really bad bit from his very old dog a few months ago because he mistakenly started the dog. He ended up in the hospital with a infection from it. Old dogs don't hear well and it is easy to startle them if they did not see or hear you coming. Hugs my dog loving friend. Susan

Oh Kitty. Yes, an indulgence is OK when grieving a lost companion! Only 1 year? My heart breaks! Please, hug your friend from me next time you see her. Duncan bit someone? Poor boy. Love to you, to your friend and to Duncan! I promise a Heaven full of good friends for Duncan! I feel my sister is there to greet each and every dog! Plus, all the dogs gone before Sweet Duncan! Hugs!!

Oh, poor thing. He is beautiful. It's so sad when our pets are hurting. Especially being that they tolerate a lot that we don't know about. I know it doesn't lessen the pain, but at least he is no longer suffering.
