progressing slowly

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

My progress has slowed and I need to get back on track. I am down 13 pounds since Christmas, but very little of that has occurred in the past month. The good news is after waiting 4 weeks, I got a new triathlon bike, and my weight is on my ischial tuberosities (aka "sit bones") as it should be. The bad news is I am not used to weight there and it hurts! I know it takes some getting used to, but it's a pain to not be able to just hop on and ride as much as I want. 8½ weeks until my first tri for this year, twice the distance I did last year. I have the run and swim down, I just need to get used to the new bike so I can work up to 20 miles.
I know I can do this, I just need to put it in writing to remind myself.

Congrats on working towards a triathalon! That is so exciting!! emoticon

I've always wanted to get into biking but I find myself discouraged when a chain comes off or a tire pops and I can't even handle the most minor maintenance. I'm actually looking for beginners' bike maintenance classes in my city so I can get into it-- I'm sure you're a pro already! Congrats on your progress!!

WOW! Triathlon! You can do this. Sounds like you have plenty of time to get use to the new bike. Sending Positive Karma and Energy Your Way!
