OOPS!
In March 2001, Nick at Nite aired the 1983 Three’s Company episode “The Charming Stranger,” as it had done dozens of times before. This time, an eagle-eyed viewer called the network to alert them to something that nobody had noticed before: Star John Ritter’s private parts were visible—for about a second—through the bottom of a pair of boxer shorts. Ever since, the episode has aired with the offending footage deleted. When Ritter heard about the incident, he quipped to The New York Observer, “I’ve requested they air both versions, edited and unedited, because sometimes you feel like a nut, and sometimes you don’t.”
