I admit: I love food. I'm usually up for trying new foods, or foods I once upon a time hated - hence my new love of beets and brussel sprouts. I love it so much that even when I know I'm full, I keep eating JUST so I can continue tasting it on my tongue. If it weren't so strange to chew your food up and just spit it out, I'd probably do that.....but I don't want people thinking I have an eating disorder. Or maybe that *is* an eating disorder?
Right now my first step is learning to stop. Chewing more slowly and for longer gives me that oral pleasure I do so enjoy, and it also allows for my eyes to catch up with my stomach. So far I've been doing well - what used to be a two plate meal has now become a half plate meal. Even on those foods I absolutely ADORE (lasagna, anyone?). I'm going to continue with this step for a while, though, before I continue on with the next step (which is to be determined). I want to make sure I have this one good and under control before I add too much to my plate.
Pun intended. ;-)
