Insanity Week 2

Monday, March 11, 2013

Today is the start of Week 2 of Insanity. I have written out the schedule to where I will complete Insanity right before our Anniversary weekend. Workouts went really well last week, but my nutrition was way off.

I have learned that weekends are definitely my weakest times. I let myself indulge a little on Friday and don't stop until Sunday night. Big problem! Starting this week I am following Jillian's nutrition plan from Slim for Life. She recommends that you eat 4 meals a day, every 4 hours. She also recommends that you allow 20% of your calories to be something fun, rather than allowing yourself a cheat day. Day 1 has gone well. Let's see how the rest of the week goes.

I realize that the next two months will be a learning experience and hopefully I can figure out a system that I can maintain through this journey.

keep up the great workouts! I agree with you - Friday through Sunday is hard for me too. I am trying to plan ahead for the weekends and making Sunday my prep day for the week. I'm reading JM's Slim for Life book too! Love that lady!

That's a great idea... I think I'll try the 80/20 every day, too!!

Thanks for sharing! I just finished week 2 of Insanity. You will LOVE the results of your fit test. That will also show how well you are actually doing. It's easier to focus on where we mess up vs. how much we accomplish. Insanity, and hanging with it is HUGE! Weekend cheats or not.

I love the comment you made about J.M. plan. I have to agree. When you include more regular fun foods, you don't feel you have to cheat. I did this over the weekend. For the first in a long time, I skipped cheating because I had my fun stuff at home. I didn't think or put into words until you mentioned J.M., but it makes sense. Then in time, if you do venture off on occasion it will be after having control. We are in same boat, this was, again, my first weekend where I stayed on my plan and didn't feel deprived. Hoping to hold out until my anniversary for my cheat now.

Weekends are the toughest! But you really don't have to give up your faves! Switching to extra lean beef with Whitewheat buns for burgers, Smart Ones desserts daily for happy calories, and PB2 Peanut Butter on a Fiber One Oats & Chocolate Bar is heaven!!! It's all about finding healthier ways to make the foods you love and actually incorporate them. I cannot force a salad down my throat to save my life, so why do it if I won't stick with it? You got this!

Weekends are hard for me too. I found some biggest loser pancakes that are very tasty, full of protien and fiber and really satisfy that carb craving.

I have posted it to Spark Recipes...my screen name is Ya_yaya if your intesested.

Good luck with completing both the Insanity work out program and the diet program! I am doing a 30 day challenge with P90x and just trying to keep within the Spark calorie target range.
