What's On My Mind

Monday, March 11, 2013

I'm watching final weigh-in on The Biggest Loser. It never ceases to amaze me how fickle the scale can be.

That is why it is so important to have other ways to measure our success - the way our clothes fit, how we feel, measurements.

I have been a part of Spark for almost a year, and I can not believe what I have learned. I have lost a total of 17 pounds, not a huge number for a year, but not that bad either. Slow and steady is truly the way to go. And that scale certainly isn't the only way I have gauged my success!

Congrats on the weight loss -- and staying the course with Spark. Which means you are still engaged and probably see this as a longer journey of health and fitness.

Gosh, if I'd had lost 17 pounds of weight each year, for the prior five years I indulged and ignored myself, I would have been 85 pounds lighter instead of 35 pounds heavier!!! It's amazing what slow and STEADY can do!

17 pounds lost is great! Slow and steady is the best way, because then it stays off!

You are down 17 pounds more than you would be if you didn't that is a success. Keep up the great work. Scales can be a four letter word. Slow and steady is much better than too much too fast or nothing at all.

I am with you there. I lost 25lbs in the first six months and then the scale didn't move for almost a year and I am finally starting to move again. However, I have developed nice muscles in my legs and my pants are looser. Keep up your steady progress

When people only use the scale as their indicator for how successful they are, it is just difficult! Look at Danni...she had 19 lbs of muscle weight gain. That would be horrible on the scale!

Keep up the great work. Slow and steady is always better!
