I'm struggling with the balance.
If you have ever tried to shed pounds and get healthy, then you know the difference between success and failure is the mind-body connection. You have to get your head in the game to be successful. No excuses. It's nobody's game but your own. You have to do it for yourself. And it's all or nothing. When your mind is focused on your goals, nothing ~ temptation, bad weather, injury, holidays.... can stop you from achieving the goals you set. Your mind is in control.
If and when Life Happens (and we know it always does) ~ the time comes that you allow deviation from "The Plan".... vacation, holidays, illness, temptation, an out-of-town friend's visit, stress, a really late night and a week goes by. You know the body's back in control.
But the biggest hurdle is getting the body back under control by the mind. The mind says "I really need to work out tonight" but the body says "I'm tired, have a chill and want to watch tv." The absolute hardest thing to do is to get back in the saddle once you've been thrown.
