New Puppy Exhaustion

Monday, March 11, 2013

While I absolutely adore our 9 1/2 week old Labradoodle puppy, I must admit that I am also absolutely exhausted. It's like having a toddler in the house again. LOL

We've pretty much puppy-proofed our home and are working on housetraining her, but whew! It is a log of work. It will be well worth it to have Missy as a part of our family for a very, very long time, yet for right now, I am so doggone exhausted. emoticon

No "spark" here. Big sigh. I think it's momentarily taking a nap. emoticon

Seeing your post totally brought me back to when we found that magnificent little 2 month old puppy in the desert. Make no mistake he was a mess and we had no idea he would turn out so fantastic. But he crate trained so well. He only peed in the house about 8 times and the other once only. He would put himself to bed in his cage every night and for 4 nights he woke up during the night and I would take him outside. But after that he slept till 6 AM He was a terror to leave alone in the house and we almost never did it. After he tore apart the couch arm we learned our lesson. He was great in the car. His favorite toy was our older dog and I found his patience amazing. emoticon He is over the rainbow bridge now and I still miss him every day. Something happens and reminds us of him and we get sad all over again.
