Update (Day 536)

Monday, March 11, 2013

Hey all!

How are you all doing on your goals? I haven't blogged here in about 3 weeks, but don't fret, I'm still blogging. But it's on my personal blog, I really wish I could link up the two of them so when I post there it would post here too. Alas, I cannot do that though. Anywho...

I wanted to let you all know how I'm doing. Honestly, I'm doing awesome right now! I'm staying busy with my class, which is going really well so far. Just starting week 4 of 10, I can't believe how quickly it's going. The petition for Abid's visa is being sent out this week, which is super exciting! I've started carb cycling, I'm on week 2 of it. I absolutely love it so far, I lost 3.8 lbs because of it last week. And I'm still eating the same amount of calories but just a different ratio of carbs/protein/fats each day. I recently started drinking some whey protein, which is helping with my protein levels. Plus I'm eating more veggies and less pasta/bread, just fewer carbs in general.

I do have a sciatic nerve injury on my right side currently, so my exercise is very limited right now. But I have been able to start walking more and I'm able to do a few upper body strength training exercises. This past weekend I bought a new pedometer and some 2 lb weights, so I'm using those while I'm walking.

I'm slowly starting to see changes to my body. A lot of my clothes are getting big or just fitting better. I'm even fitting into some of my old clothes, which is an amazing feeling. Currently I'm sitting between a size 20 and 22, depending on the brand. But I'm hoping that soon I'll be exclusively into a 20, the strength training and walking should help with that.

I pulled out my 2013 goals today just to see how I'm doing. And I'm well on my way to reaching my goal of 250 pounds by the end of the year. I'm currently at 285.4, so I'm 35.4 pounds away from that currently. The carb cycling should help lower my body fat percentage. I'm working out more consistently again and lifting more. Honestly, I don't think I'll be able to walk a 5K in under 45 minutes, but we'll see. I'm close to being down a clothing size already. I haven't completed the 30DS yet, because of a few injuries, but I will finish it before the year is out. I've been doing great with my water intake, at least 100 oz every day.

All and all, I think I'm making great strides to reaching my goals for this year. Here I am just a few days ago, looking better than I did before. :)

Life is good right now, the only way it could be better is if Abid were here. That will happen soon enough. I can't wait to give you all another update next month! See you then! In the mean time, come and check out my other blog where I post almost every day:
