New (Kind of Random) Goal

Monday, March 11, 2013

So I am on this whole self-betterment kick and I decided one of the things that has always bothered me was my nails. I am a hardcore bite til they bleed nail biter. It is almost always because I am anxious, nervous or stressed but I think its time I had the hands of a 28 year old woman and not a 10 year old girl. Honestly I have never really tried to curtail this bad habit before. I got myself some nail growth serum at Target yesterday and I am going to give it a try. It is a very unconscious habit of mine and so far I have already caught myself 5x ready to go at them but stopped myself because I am paying more attention. Hoping I can get them to a long enough length that I can put on some nail polish without it looking silly before the wedding. :)

I'm an occasional biter, which is a problem due to piano and guitar... I typically let them grow in for quite a while, but then (as I'm either watching a good flick or a show) I just seem to bite them. I've noticed that if you pay attention more to what you're doing, while youre doing it, you can usually coax yourself out of it for a good while. If not, put polish on them. The girlfriend says it worked wonders for not wanting to bite them.

Best of luck!

I used to be a bad nail bitter too and I eventually got to the point where I could have long pretty natural nails. I relapse sometimes when Im stressed or anxious about things, but it feels great to not have band aides on my fingers all the time. Seeing them painted and looking pretty is a good reward! emoticon
