I've been on SP for nearly 4 years, but you'd never know it by my weight or my (lack of) progress or my SP log-in streak. But today I've read a couple of things on the SP site that have me a little bit motivated to move forward.
1. I read about UWPALUM reaching that all-important first goal. www.sparkpeople.com/mypa
Just the fact that someone is willing to share initial progress with the world at large is impressive to me. I'm a fairly private person in that I don't want to say or promise something out loud because I'm afraid I won't accomplish it, and that's what people will remember. Not that I set a goal, but that I didn't do it.
2. I happened to see an excerpt and link to "Dodging the Exercise Roller Coaster" www.sparkpeople.com/reso
and chose to read it. When I got there, I realized I had started something like that already. Last week I decided to restart doing wall pushups during my work day and taking two steps at a time when I go up stairs at work. (I'm not doing two on the way down
So, I think I'm actually starting again to do some things well and right. I'd like virtually nothing more than to report here about some true success, but I know I have to work to get there.
