I didn't sleep very well last night. I lost count how many times I woke up. During one of my awake periods, I listened to the radio, a programme called New Dimensions on Radio National (Australia).

It was an interview with Michael J Gelb about improving your brain. “Unlike the knee or the hip, the brain is designed to improve with use and the only real question is, therefore, what are the best ways to use it" -- Michael Gelb

There is a "Listen now" button in the top left corner. I don't know whether the audio is confined to Australia, but you could try it. I thought it was so good, that I listened to it again just now.
If the audio does not work for you, there are many articles and resources on Michael Gelb's web site (

I have struggled through today due to lack of sleep, but having listened to the Michael Gelb interview again, and completed today's SparkCoach session, I'm feeling brighter, so off to bed with an improved mood and certain optimism about sleeping.

Tomorrow I'm going to hunt out my three juggling bean bags. According to Michael Gelb, just 15 minutes/day of some novelty or learning (chess, bridge, new language) for three months improves your brain.
