Morning person?

Monday, March 11, 2013

9 pm Sunday night : set alarm for 6 am and plan to go to bed at 10 pm, per goals.
9:59 pm - realize I forgot to call Mom who is having a knee replacement tomorrow, call
10:47 pm - end call & go to bed
6 am - alarm goes off, reset alarm to 6:45
6:45 am - alarm goes off, hit snooze

Note - the alarm resetting & snooze take actual intent because I have to unlock the iPad in order to do so, not just blindly press a button like on an alarm clock

6:55 am - alarm goes off, consider if there is a way to call in sick
6:59 am - roll out of bed
7:05 am - trudge downstairs with unfocused eyes to make breakfast. Step on cat who saw me coming down the stairs but refused to move. Attempt to make steel cut oats using 1/4 cup of sugar and 2 tsp of oats and no water
7:08 am - realize mistake when something starts to smell burned
7:09 am - re-make oats and put oats & sugar in the refrigerator and flax seed on the shelf
7:10 am - down mug of coffee and realize flax seed goes in the fridge; correct but leave the oats & sugar there
7:12 am - daughter asks why is the sugar & oatmeal in the fridge?
7:15 am - down cup of espresso and contemplate the evil of Monday mornings
7:16 am - realize I am doomed when DST hits France...whenever it does in a few weeks (note to self...find out date)

Agree with GETSTRONGRRR about the cat. I have four cats to navigate in the morning (5am for me)

Hang in there. Only 6 months before the clock has to fall behind.... (only consolation I can think of!)

That and add some ginseng to your morning routine to perk it up even more....

At least "step on kitty" didn't turn into "fall down stairs". That would have been a lot shorter morning schedule if that had happened emoticon

That whole first part is so me. I tell myself I will be in bed by 10. Last night it was almost 11. That plus the DST change this weekend has led to a very grumpy morning.

I'm up by 5:15 most days I am NOT a morning person.... takes me a bit to wake up ... hence the quiet and a cup of tea. Out of house by 7:10 am .... I know the feeling

We had the time change yesterday in the US. Up at 6 AM, but only breakfasted, will shower shortly. Having my morning cup of tea first, while my son showers first. I do hate mornings, but I like to see my hubby and son off in the mornings. (This week is a little different as son is on spring break.)
