I am still pretty busy. But I did have a couple of quick overnighters with Mom so I could get a trail hike in. The first one was gorgeous and warm. I went with Daisy and Mom to the off leash area.
Its so wonderful going with a dog that will stick close by you and recall instantly.
In fact she recalls with great enthusiasm :)
Then I wanted a hike by myself, more for fitness, using the trekking poles for the first time. The day was overcast and windy.
Going over that bridge was a huge challenge. It was totally iced over and the wind was so strong, I had to grab a rail on occasion. I was really thankful for my Yak Trax, they kept me from being blown over:
Spring seems a long way off with the dark, cold days we have been having the majority of the time.
The nice part of the trail was I had it to myself. The city piled a huge berm in front of the traditional entrance, so I had to go down to the shore and around to get on it, climbing another berm that wasn't so high. The path was still packed enough to be easy to walk on it. The sheen of ice proved no challenge for my picks.
Sleep has been worse then ever, waking up constantly, the pain there, but not as bad as if I had nothing at all. I was struggling to get out of bed before. My rheumy pushed back my appointment one week so I will wait until the 23rd to see what she has to say about it all.
I am going to let the officers of the bridge club know what a struggle I have been having and how its been affecting my performance and the high number of errors I have been making on my job due to lack of sleep and smoke inhalation making me sick. Meeting tomorrow after the game I work, will be a long day.
I still feel better when I am moving. The moment I try to sit or lay down, the pain ramps up. Not just my back but hip and groin. Nothing showed on my X-Rays of my hip so it could all be related to the back. I have requested the radiologist's report on my bone scan so I could see for myself exactly which areas are currently showing disease activity. Here is hoping the mail person can find the right box :P.
Mom likes to toss the ball in the back yard for Daisy twice a day. I tried to capture her, but she is a blur in motion:
Anticipation was half the fun:
Ready, set, go!
Always back for more:
Occasionally, she is unable to find it and needs human help:
Was tired and a bit sore on my hands and arms from poling so decided not to go to the club to set up for my Monday game and the meeting. Will have to hustle to get exercise and everything done and to the club tomorrow morning.
Thanks for stopping by!
