Wasn't a good day food wise, and it remains to be seen how much sleep I'll manage, but I've arrived in Chicagoland, and am ready for work to begin. Oh, and I got a picture with a giant cardboard check for a thousand bucks. Seems like my buddy who works here has been playing trivia at the bar down the street from the hotel we stay at, his team did well enough to get to some regional final thing in Rockford (about an hour away), some other people who play couldn't make it, and did I want to play in this thing? The answer was, ummm, ok? And so we went through the fog and rain (I wasn't driving, so I pretty much chilled out), and we won. On a tiebreaker. The question was "How many games were lost to the player strike in baseball in 1981?" We guessed 700, the answer was 713, and hey, I've earned some money before I even started work. And now to see if I can sleep quickly after that bit of excitement.
