Need a buddy!!!

I would love to have a diet buddy or buddies. At this time in my life, it is critical for me to lose this weight. My insurance will be running out in June 2014. I need to be off meds as I can't afford them without insurance. Also, I like feeling better as I lose the weight.

My work schedule is a little demanding, however, I manage to come on SparkPeople a couple of times every day. My food choices aren't always the best. I zap a lot of food and once a week, I might buy a Happy Meal. I like to pack my lunch, however, sometimes I miss the mark on that one. Plus I have no food imagination. In the summer, as I work in my car, packing a lunch isn't always the best idea.

My job is physically demanding. I walk at a minimum one mile a day. Then there is Friday where I get in approximately three miles. Not sure if this is correct, but the pedometer said so and it takes all day to get it done. I am not a jogger and not a speed walker. I have a bad hip so I have to walk a little here and a little there. Job is perfect for that. I also do a lot of lifting. I stay tired and am looking forward to a time when jobs don't wear me out so much. I know it will happen one day, just wish it were today.

I am not a pollyanna type person nor am I morbid. I guess I am a mid range optimistic person with a quirky sense of humor. I am middle aged (53 soon), overweight, and trying to stay motivated. I like to read and have a kindle. I am a grandmother of two. Love cas. Like to do crafts, but really stink at them. Currently working two to three jobs. And I occasionally play the lottery and dream big!

When I really cracked down and started working at improving my diet and activity level, I was able to go off my metformin, so it is possible to do it. I wish you luck with that! You can definitely do it!!

    emoticon We all have problems with getting into routine. I got recently discouraged because I gained back 2.5 kg. Let's promised ourselves that we start tomorrow and continue for us long as we can. Just 10 to 30 minutes of cardio every day. Let's check on each other daily emoticon

    Sounds like your definitely getting in the exercise even with the bad hip your walking quite a bit it seems like your just not making the right food choices. Instead of a happy meal maybe you should go to Wendy's and get the chicken breast sandwich that fills you up (it's grilled) I just have the tomato and lettuce there is a mayo they put on it I tell them to hold it and get a water or even a diet coke / or even one of the side salads might even want to carry a small container of salad dressing with you as there's does pack some calories.
It sounds like you have a lovely family as I looked at the pictures and it's great that you want to not only want to stay healthy because of insurance issues that will be effecting you in 2014 but for those little grand babies.
When I have not much time I like to make turkey wraps with whole lavish bread it's only 100 calories a wrap and they are huge and I put lettuce in with it and it really fills me up. Sometimes I just fill it up with lettuce and tomatoes with a light dressing on it and god it's so low cal!
I also buy weight watcher dinners for emergencies and they don't have much sodium and you might want to carry some protein bars in your purse for times when you want a little something that will stop you from hitting a Mc Donalds.
Tracking is soooooooo important and I've got a new love for strawberries and blueberries and when I want a little snack at night I get the green giant frozen broccoli and cheese I cut open the package and put it on the plate so I can get every bit of that cheese hahaha it's only like 60 or 90 calories as a matter of fact I just had one! hahaha
Feel free to write to me and we can tell one another how our days went , but tracking and water is the key!

    Hope you win the lottery. Dreaming big is a good idea. It is what keeps us strong.

I like to read and have a kindle also. I use it a lot for games to improve my mind, too.
