the difference 10 pounds makes

Sunday, March 10, 2013

I was complaining to my spark friend (Cannie50) the other day and she told me I should write this blog.

Do you know the difference 10 extra pounds make? Let me tell you what it is like for me.

It is the extra fat in my upper thighs that make them rub together. I didnt even know it was gone till it came back.

It is the bigger belly flap that now fully flaps over instead of hovering.

It is needing to use powder on my belly flap again because it rubs when I sweat.

It is the tshirt arms being too snug when they used to fit

It is the extra muffin top hanging over my jeans that wasnt there before.

It is that little extra weight that makes doing EVERYTHING just a little bit more difficult.

It is the extra energy it takes to move, sleep, walk, cook, do chores and generally move.

It is the way the socks leave marks on my ankles that werent there before I gained those 10 pounds back.

It is the extra fat that keeps me from feeling sexy towards my man and not wanting to let him touch my stomach.

Basically 10 pounds gained back makes a HUGE difference.

So, even though I am bad at math, it stands to reason, that simply losing those 10 pounds, would reverse those effects and indeed, make me feel like a bad ass again.

So, I have a job to do. I guess I better quit baking and eating cookies. Allrighty then, here I go. 10 pounds. I can do that. Hell I have dont that millions of times in my life!

I agree about the baking.....I had to quit baking about 10 years ago as I finally realized a diet based on cookie dough really wasn't the best thing.

One foot in front of the other and you will get where you want to be!

    Lemme give you further encouragement.....lose it now! I've got 10 years on ya & if I can lose 1/4# a's a g-r-e-a-t, terrific, hip-hip-hooray (!!!) week.

Translation: it gets harder to Just Do It Now! And save yourself twice the work next year! And you'll have a whole year of feelin' sexy, not having skin rub & all the other stuff you mentioned. Change some habits; get ride of the triggers (you really CAN live without them...and life is soooo much easier!)

You deserve to feel great about are one awesome get out from under those 10# & get happy! emoticon

Yeah, none of that sounds very fun. Sorry about the ten pounds...but you're absolutely right, you can totally take it back off! :)

I could write this with 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60. Oh how I wish I'd learned this lesson before I put the weight back on- but I think I'm finally learning. We are in good company together here- you and I.

I can relate to this. What bothers me is I lose 10 pounds and I don't see much of a difference, I gain back 10 and all of a sudden I feel like there is a bag of bricks strapped to my back and EVERYTHING is harder. I know you will get those 10 pounds right back off! emoticon emoticon

I hear ya. I feel it in my thighs as well. My still touch, but my jeans get tighter there before anywhere else. Keep fighting the good fight!

go for it, and yes when I start gaining, it is all in the back, waist belly, where it is uncomfortable, hard to snap my jeans, I am working on mine, and it is not as easy as putting it back on, but when it comes off this time MAINTENANCE
